français

When I grow up I'm gonna be French.
People talk about having a goal in life, a passion, etc. It always seemed crazy to me for that girl in my 7th grade class to talk about how she had high school, college, and her whole career planned out, but I think that finally I've found mine. French. Sounds stupid to you, but it fits me just right.
I went to France last summer for a month - one of the best months of my life. I stayed in Tours, and we visited lots of other places around the country too: Paris, Bourges, le Havre, Caen, Mont Saint-Michel, Amboise, Versailles, la Baule, Guérand, and other places.
I loved it all - the way the whole town went out to the Place Plumereau (where all of the town's restaurants and bars are) to watch a soccer game, the weather, the way every meal comes with cheese, and the way shopping is done at an outdoor market right after the sun comes up. Life is less of a rush and bother in France. They still get everything done, but it's not such a hurried lifestyle. Things don't all come vacuum-wrapped and super sized.
Do I ramble too much? I think I do.
What it comes down to is that France is the greatest place I've been, and I want to live there. Until then, we're planning on having lots and lots of French exchange students live with us. Bliss. :)
